From his early days in juvenile and adult institutions to his pivotal role as the director of Multnomah County’s Department of Community Justice, Taylor’s journey embodies a commitment to excellence and innovation.
Throughout his career, he has served as a counselor, Probation and Parole Officer, Probation and Parole Supervisor, and held esteemed positions such as County and State Director of Probation and Parole in Oregon. Taylor’s influence extends beyond these roles; he has left an indelible mark on the profession as Past Treasurer and President of the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA). His contributions have been celebrated with prestigious awards, including the APPA Walter Dunbar Award for his significant contributions to the field. Notably, Taylor has played a pivotal role in global initiatives as Coordinator of the 2nd World Congress on Probation, amplifying best practices on an international scale.
Beyond his professional achievements, Taylor’s commitment to community service is evident through his roles as Past Mayor and city councilor, as well as President of the Luke Center for Catalytic Change.
