OJJDP FY25 Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program

.This funding opportunity seeks to build the capacity of states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Tribal governments to implement new and innovative approaches to enhance existing juvenile drug treatment courts (JDTC) and improve outcomes for youth with substance use disorder or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, including those with histories of trauma.

    BJA FY25 Adult Treatment Court Program

    The Adult Treatment Court Program seeks to assist states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments to plan, implement, and enhance the operations of adult treatment courts including management and service coordination for treatment court participants, fidelity to the adult treatment court model, and recovery support services. BJA provides financial and technical assistance to the field to support these goals.

    Adult treatment courts integrate evidence-based substance use disorder treatment, mandatory drug testing, incentives and sanctions, and transitional services in judicially supervised criminal court settings that have jurisdiction over persons with substance use disorder treatment needs to reduce recidivism, increase access to treatment and recovery support, and prevent overdose.     BJA FY25 Second Chance Act Community-based Reentry Program

    This funding opportunity seeks to support organizations and tribal governments providing comprehensive reentry services to individuals who have been incarcerated. Prior to their release from incarceration, individuals will be screened, assessed, and identified for program participation. Following release from incarceration, participants will receive intensive case management services, and they will be connected to evidence-based programming designed to assist with a safe and seamless transition to their communities.

            BJA FY25 Improving Adult & Youth Crisis Stabilization & Community Reentry Program

            This funding opportunity seeks to support state, local, and tribal governments, as well as community-based nonprofit organizations, to support cross-system collaboration between criminal and juvenile justice agencies, mental health and substance use agencies, communitybased organizations that provide reentry services, and community-based behavioral health providers. The goal is to improve clinical stabilization pretrial, during confinement, and support continuity of care and recovery during the transition to the community through clinical and other evidence-based activities or services for individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. In addition, this funding seeks to minimize the potential for experiencing crisis and improve recovery outcomes for people with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders who are currently involved with the criminal or juvenile justice systems or reentering the community from these systems.

            BJA FY25 Improving Substance Use Disorder Treatment & Recovery Outcomes for Adults in Reentry

            This funding opportunity seeks to enhance corrections and community supervision systems and community-based providers’ capacity to address the substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery support needs of people during incarceration and upon reentry. The goals of this program are to support the implementation or expansion of evidence-based and trauma-informed SUD treatment programming, as well as to promote the implementation of deflection as part of the treatment and recovery safety net, which helps persons in treatment stay in treatment, and prevents further and unnecessary contact with the criminal justice system.             OJJDP FY25 Second Chance At Addressing the Needs of Incarcerated Parents & Their Minor Children

            This funding opportunity seeks to support states, units of local government, Tribal communities, and community-based organizations to implement, develop, or expand programs within detention or correctional facilities to respond to the needs of incarcerated parents (juvenile or adult) who have children younger than age 18 to prevent violent crime, reduce recidivism, and provide support for minor children.             New Mexico Sentencing Commission - Crime Reduction Grants

            The New Mexico Sentencing Commission periodically accepts applications for crime reduction grants through the Crime Reduction Grant Act (Section 31-28-1 NMSA 1978, et seq.). Grant projects may be for any of the following 12 purposes:

              1. Develop, expand, and improve evidence-based treatment and supervision alternatives to incarceration
              2. Reduce barriers to participation by criminal offenders in pre prosecution diversion or specialty court programs
              3. Develop or improve pretrial service program
              4. Develop or improve coordination of services between law enforcement agencies and treatment programs
              5. Establish law enforcement crisis intervention teams
              6. Coordinate access to programs for transitional or reentry homes for individuals recently released from incarceration
              7. Recruit or retain law enforcement officers, prosecutors, public defenders, corrections officers and mental health workers
              8. Develop or expand digitized records
              9. Develop or expand the ability of a criminal justice coordinating council member to share data with, and access data on, the statewide criminal justice data integration platform
              10. Develop or expand data-driven policing programs and pretrial services
              11. Staff a criminal justice coordinating council
              12. Purchase equipment or provide training to support any of the above purposes

            Maryland's Office Of Overdose Response: Competitive Grant Program

            The purpose of MOOR’s Competitive Grant Program is to distribute grant funding to the highest-scoring proposals received from state and local governments, as well as from private and not-for-profit community-based partners, that align with MOOR’s strategic priorities and serve to meet some of the greatest needs around the State. The funding available for MOOR’s Competitive Grant Program is approximately $6 million

            Eligibility & Requirements

            The following entities are eligible to apply:

            • State agencies;
            • Local government entities (including local school systems); and
            • Private and not-for-profit community-based partners.

              • must be a Maryland-based organization benefitting Maryland residents
              • *Recovery residences must be MCORR certified and have a policy in place stating that they do not discriminate on the basis of a person’s use of any FDA approved medication for Opioid Use Disorder, in order to be considered for funding.

            Please note that applicants are not eligible to submit an application for products/services that will be utilized by another organization unless that organization has previously documented that they are seeking this product/service and has selected the applicant as their top choice to provide that product/service. A detailed letter of recommendation from each agency, organization, or business where products/services will be provided is required, in order for applicants to be considered for grant funding for those products/services. As an example, an applicant who seeks to provide training opportunities in schools should include a letter of recommendation from the schools where training will be provided, endorsing the applicant and proposed project.

            All project proposals must address the overdose crisis via Prevention, Harm Reduction, Treatment, Recovery and Public Safety. Additionally, funding will be prioritized for projects that fall within MOOR’s priority projects.
