A group of Texas judges and court officials told the state’s Senate Finance Committee that Texas would need to dedicate time and money to address court backlog. The group urged the committee to reconsider cutting $550,000 a year from a fund that pays for visiting judges. Arguing that doing so would only worsen the backlog of cases.
